Skills
Able to take an antenna design project from specifications through
prototyping to production. Able to document all work using good engineering and
intellectual property practices. Good communication skills. Excels when working
without supervision, can work in own home office (during design phase), and
communicate with other team members via phone and Internet. Comfortable with a
small-business environment, in a position of high-visibility.
Able to design in one or more of the following categories:
* Patch and Patch arrays
* Yagi-Uda Arrays
* Log Periodic Dipole Arrays
* Electrically Small Loops
* Quadrifilar Helix
* Bifilar Helix
* Monofilar Endfire Helix (Kraus Helix)
* Slot Antennas
* Sleeve Dipoles
* Baluns
* Microstrip/Stripline impedance matching and feed networks
* Shortened monopoles
* Broadband Antennas
* Reflector Antennas
* Horn Antennas
* Feeds for Parabolic Antennas
Software
Experience with software in one or more of the following categories:
* RF simulation and design (Eagleware or similar)
* 2D CAD software (AutoCAD or similar)
* 3D CAD software (SolidWorks, Inventor)
* Antenna simulation software (NEC-2, EZNEC Pro)
* 3D electromagnetic modeling software (CST Microwave Studio, Remcom XFDTD, HFSS)
* Programming languages for test equipment control
* Printed Circuit Board (PCB) layout tools
Hardware
* RF Network Analyzers
* RF Spectrum Analyzers
* RF Signal generators
* Antenna Positioners
Experience
* 2-5 years in antenna design.
* Military experience a plus.
* Ham Radio experience a plus.
* Mechanical engineering experience a plus.
* Machine shop abilities a plus.
